Time is winding down for the season...I have a very busy week ahead of me and hunting doesn't appear to be on the list...A couple of big birds brought in this week have shook up the leader board on both adult and youth sections.. Congradulations on some real nice birds.....Time for you sandbaggers to hit those secret spots over the holiday weekend and put 1 on the list...Good Luck to all and have a safe holiday

Had a close encounter this a.m. had a fox come out and take a gander at my decoys..then had atom gobble in the woods...after five minutes he closed the distance only to gobble from woods edge trusting the hen with him and she didnt trust the decoys set 20 yards into the field..all in all still better than not seein a damn thing

Finally got a Big Tom to answer me about 11:15 this morning....gobbled back at me 10 times..... he cut the yardage to about 125 yards and showed me his girlfriend.... Apparently, she is much hotter than me....Called it a set at 11:57

Monday morning was best action of year... 1 set produced a hen and a fired up tom but wouldn't commit.....2nd set, called in a decent tom and 2 jakes to about 10 yards....took a good long look at him a desided to let him walk....Changed my mind....made a big loop in the woods and called them up again....This time they stayed about 40 yards to my right...Was glad I didn't shoot him, until I saw the pics that Pat posted... I have him on trail cam also...Apparently he was killed by a predator that afternoon, because the carcass was found on the path that i walked the previous morning

Slower, softer yelps with maybe a couple of clucks.I sometimes will rake leaves,I'm not sure why,but it seems to work.I have had some success with this tactic, but most of the time watch them walk away.
