Well I have spent the better part of the morning sending letters to our beloved leaders about this bill. Coumo, Kennedy, and Grisanti ( that lying *#@* ) all got one. Pretty sure I will get a visit from the po po. Please do not depend on the NRA or S.C.O.P.E to take control of this matter for you. YOU need to write letters, go mto rallys, sign petitions. Your 2nd amendment rights depend on it.

Thanks Scott I haven't done much hunting like this myself most of my duck hunting takes place here where I live on Grand Island on the Niagara. Figured we would change it up a little. Hawkeye, I haven't done any deer hunting in the bog because we have some private land we deer hunt near by but I did scout it this summer and it looked very promising. I would concentrate on the bow season cause i know it gets hit very hard during gun.

Jkaese- u should bring a coyote call with you next time you scout at night. Even though it is dark, the deer will still be spooked and probably not hit that area for a while. BILL WINKE suggested using a predatory call and slingshot with small stones to gently scare the deer away instead of having them bust you.

The biggest thing about a mock scrape is what you use. I am young as well but i am attending college for things like this. This year i have pictures of a ten on my mock scrapes. the use of a mock scrape is more for putting a buck in the general are in a specific spot within shooting distance and getting him to pause within your area. Preorbital scent will make or break a mock scrape. Apply it to the licking branch and any mature buck in the are (isnt garunteed) is more likely to visit that scrape. Especially in early season while they're grouped up these licking branches are a way of keeping inventory of eachother and most bucks in the area will visit those scrapes. Put a camera up and make sure you dont kill the first buck if there is a bigger one visiting that spot! Preorbital can be expensive and as far as urine it is best to use the urine (NOT TARSAL in early season) from the Same buck each time. many companies number the bottles because recent studies show that consistent urine makes a big difference. Research it some more, look for the deer hunter's almanac. it is packed with awesome info! Good luck this season!

What would you like to know? Early season is usually better, late April through mid June. The creeks are higher the fish aren't as spooky. We have an awesome hatch going on through these months. Big flys #12- #18, the later in the season the smaller the fly the smaller the tippet. All you need is a 4 weight rod unless you want to fish for salmon then something heavier should be used.
