Shane, let me furthur explain. Most diseases that travel through the whitetail herd are passed on by salivea, forgive my spelling.Example,CWD.Now that trail cameras have become so popular, people are putting mineral and salt licks in front of them. Not such a good idea!Of course,I'm not accusing anyone on this website.

Whats the law on salt licks? Can you use them? Then when deer season starts you cant use them anymore?

FYI...for you guys that hunt in remote areas for extended periods of time
Game Harvest Reporting Period Extended
Hunters now have 7 days to report their harvest of deer, bear or turkey. Successful hunters of deer, bear, and turkey are required to report their harvest through the DEC's online reporting system or by calling 1-866-GAME-RPT (1-866-426-3778). In the past, hunters were required to report within 48 hours of their harvest. As a measure to increase flexibility for hunters to comply with the reporting requirement, particularly for hunters who hunt in remote areas that lack cell phone coverage or internet access or both, DEC has extended the reporting deadline to within 7 days of taking the animal
One additional note about papertuning. If you are not getting a consistent tear, tears left one shot right the next that is caused by torquing the bow. Proper formed needs to be worked on to get a consistent tear before making changes to the bow.

I plan for lanes with a max 30yd shot--no need to extend the distance, too many variables beyond that distance that leads to an unethical kill for the animal. Every year I find some unrecovered deer from archery season, and I'm sure it was from poor shot placement. Give the deer some respect and keep the shots reasonable--good setups=good shot opportunities. 50 yard shots, ridiculous in my opinion-leave those to the 3D range. Just my 2 cents.

Deer are really on the move and the Rut is in full swing...So far this year has been somewhat dissappointing..No real good looks at any decent bucks and quite frankley not a shot opportunity at anything....Swirling winds killed my set last night with some large does that where wlll on there way to being in the freezer but,.......Nice 8 point come roaring threw this morning at 8:00am that could have cared less of my bleats and grunts.....He was on a mission and stayed out 40 yards and only stopped once..A glance at his head gear is all i got but, he looked like he qualfied for a thunderhead sandwich . FRUSTRATED!
